Pound Puppies!

My first trip to the Pound happened this Saturday! I thought I had escaped until I saw this face!

Who could resist? However this dog was not available for adoption until Sunday at noon. I decided if it was meant to be - she would still be there on Sunday. Sure enough - "Maggie" (the name I have chosen) was there waiting for me the next day. She was adopted by me Sunday afternoon. We got to play for a little while - she was a little nervous - not knowing what was happening Treb was carrying her already 30 pound body to a cage where we could play! She will be having surgery on 4-1-08 (April fool's day) and that evening I get to go pick her up and take her home!

She is about 4 months old and a very cute rottie mix. She is going to grow into one big strong girl - topping about 100 pounds! I am excited to start training her! I am sure there will be more pictures in the future - hopefully only of cute things she is doing!

In this case I guess my trip to the pound was a good thing - as another dog has been saved!

As You Wish and Glendale Arizona

Good Times in Glendale!

So this weekend Patti and Treb came into town - in December for Patti's birthday I gave her a gift card to As You Wish - so we decided to cash it in Saturday afternoon - she made a cute dog dish for Red and I made a cute treat jar for Maggie! One may ask - "Who is Maggie?" Check out my post about Pound Puppies to find the answer!

Treb is a big Fan of Jimmy Buffet - so Saturday night we drove out to the newest Margarita Ville and had dinner. It is located near the stadium that just hosted the super bowl - there are tons of fun stores and restaurants in the area. The coolest thing was the dancing watter - every half hour they have fountains that dance to the music - Lauren and I could not get enough of it! AWESOME!

St. Patricks Day and Easter Weekend!

Happy St. Patrick's Day - Need I say more!

So this weekend I had the opportunity to go to Pima and spend some time with all of my family. We were also able to share the 90th Birthday with Papa (AKA Garth Lunt). Timothy was so cute as we were decorating for Papa's party - we were setting up a table with things from Papa's past and Timothy stated "Papa is going to be so happy when he sees all these "REMEMBERIES"! Can I just say I am related to some of the cutest kids in the entire world! If you don't believe me - here is proof!

Carra - Yes she is taller than me - I even had hills on:(

Drowned Rats are oh so HOT!

So it all began about 4:30PM Friday afternoon - the GREAT ROAD TRIP! We got into Anaheim about 10:00PM - 1:30, 2:30, 3:30 - finally when the clock struck 5:45 I decided to get up and get ready for my exciting day at the park. 7:45 waiting in line for the gates to open! It was FANTASIC - the park was empty - Lauren, Tawnya and I covered all of the rides by 11:30AM which was perfect because I was scheduled to meet Paul by the wishing well at noon.

Splash Mountain will never be the same again - so we decide that would be our first ride together - well you know me, anything worth doing is worth doing right - FRONT OF THE LOG PLEASE! Can I just say I have never been more wet in my life on that ride! When you see a wall of water coming over the front of the boat, what are you to do but just sit back and realize that your drowned rat look is going to be HOT the rest of the day. I don't think it was a compliment that he kept saying as he was dying laughing "OH MY GOSH YOUR HAIR!"

So on to the next ride -jungle cruise - I endured it for him! When we got off the ride he asked "wanna do it again?" I ignored it the first time and on the second - I turned and said honestly NO! - but I would do it if you would like too! - the things girls do!

We then decided to meet up with Tawnya and Lauren over at California Adventure - Mulland Maddness, Malliboomer, and Screamer - were the rides of choice - Oh ya don't forget the corn dog - its a must! Paul went for the spicy link - Lauren and I shared the traditional - we seemed to be pretty full but 5 minutes later Lauren decided she needed to finish the chips!

Paul needed to meet back up with his family about 5 so after the wonderful afternoon we said our goodbyes - him on to his family and I on to a nice warm shower and clean dry clothes.

8:00 Tower of Terror with Vincent, Leora, Tawyna and Lauren. The most scared I have ever been on that ride - as unknown man sitting next to me proceeds to grab my thigh and hold on as we are dropping - at first I thought it was Vincent, but after I slapped his hand and saw that it moved to the right of me and not the left where Vincent was sitting - I was even more scared or maybe a little embarrassed.

Its tough to be a bug, Fireworks, Fantasmic, Buzz Light Year, Indiana Jones, Thunder Mountain Rail Road, Star Wars, Shopping oh and I-Hop at 3:00AM in morning - I could not wait to see my bed!

SO WHO'S UP FOR THE NEXT TRIP?

I hope they call me on a mission!

My friend Laurel has been called to serve in the Houston Texas mission - she reports to the MTC on 3-12-08. Laurel and I share the same birthday - 8-28-78 - because of this we have also shared "many-a-cheesecakes"! I went to her farewell gathering on Saturday night and told her I was a little disappointed that our 30th birthday would have us eating cheesecake by ourselves! I wish her nothing but the best - she is going to be one heck of a missionary!
